ITC Votes to Continue Investigations of Corrosion-Resistant Steel from 10 Countries

ccloutier73

The U.S. International Trade Commission today made affirmative determinations in its preliminary phase antidumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning Corrosion-Resistant Steel Products from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

These affirmative determinations mean that the U.S. Department of Commerce will investigate subsidies provided to producers of corrosion-resistant steel in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Vietnam and whether producers in all ten countries are dumping their product in the United States at unfair prices. Commerce is currently scheduled to issue preliminary duty rates from the subsidy investigations on November 29, 2024 and preliminary duty rates from the dumping investigations on February 12, 2025, although these deadlines may be extended.

In 2023, the value of corrosion-resistant steel imported from the countries involved exceeded $2.8 billion.
