International Trade Associate
Schagrin Associates, a high-powered international trade law and lobby firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking an associate attorney who specializes in trade remedies.
Applicants should be licensed to practice in Washington, DC or be able to waive in quickly. Experience with trade remedy proceedings at the U.S. Department of Commerce or U.S. International Trade Commission is required. Candidates should be academically distinguished and have excellent writing and communication skills, an attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment. Duties will include reviewing questionnaire responses and other filings, conducting legal and factual research, drafting submissions to the relevant agencies and the courts, and assisting in case preparation and client outreach.

Practice Assistant
Schagrin Associates, a high-powered boutique international trade law and lobby firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a full-time Practice Assistant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Providing administrative support to firm attorneys and staff, including scheduling meetings and appointments; management of firm calendar; coordinating travel; and transcribing dictation of memoranda and emails.

Assisting trade association staff with conference planning, regulatory filings, and other needs as required.

Assisting legal staff with filing legal documents with federal trade agencies; managing internal filing systems; and data entry.

Assisting firm executives with personal correspondence, travel, and other needs as required.

General office tasks, including answering phones and daily opening/closing of office.
Requirements:

Undergraduate degree required (those who will graduate in the near term should feel free to apply).

Strong organizational and time management skills; ideal candidate must be able to handle several projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility in handling a variety of different tasks and ability to work under pressure.

Professional demeanor, particularly when answering phones and greeting clients.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Apps, online meeting software, and strong typing skills required.
